Lucille Forester Ferrell

Lucille Forester Ferrell, 96, of Cairo, GA passed away at her home in Grady County, GA, on Sunday, January 17, 2016. Private graveside funeral services will be conducted by Rev. Whit Byram. She will be interred in the Cairo Cemetery.
Active pallbearers will be her grandsons.
Mrs. Ferrell was born on May 6, 1919, in Cairo, GA, to the late John Kader Forester and Susie Mae Walden Forester. She married George Crestial “Cres” Ferrell, who preceded her in death on September 1, 1968. She and her husband owned and operated Ferrell’s Department Store in Cairo. She was a member of the Cairo First United Methodist Church where she sang in the choir and was a member of the United Methodist Women. She also was a member of the Cairo Garden Club.
Survivors include: daughter, Jill Ferrell Byers (Jack) of Benton, TN; son, Monty Ferrell (Bett) of Cairo, GA; grandchildren, Mark Whatley (Annamarie) of Crawfordville, FL, Mike Whatley (Lynn) of Cocoa Beach, FL, Cres Ferrell (Nikki) of John’s Creek, GA, Zach Ferrell (Jessica) of Lynn Haven, FL, Jessica Ferrell Wong (Dustin) of Ooltewah, TN; great-grandchildren, Jason Whatley (Jennifer) of Taylor, MI, Christopher Whatley (Jamie) of Ocala, FL, Charlotte Ferrell of John’s Creek, GA, Lane Ferrell of John’s Creek, GA, Lucy Ferrell of John’s Creek, GA; and great-great-grandchildren, Carter Whatley of Taylor, MI, Hunter Whatley of Taylor, MI.
She was preceded in death by: her parents; her husband, George Crestial “Cres” Ferrell; daughter, Betty Faye Whatley; and brothers, Alvie Forester, Elmer Forester.

The family will receive friends at Clark Funeral Home on Monday, January 18, 2016, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
