Collie Esdell Prince

Funeral services for Collie Esdell Prince, 81, of Cairo, GA, are at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, March 30, 2016, at Capel Baptist Church, Cairo, GA. Rev. Stan Godwin and Rev. Freeman Allen will officiate. Interment will be in Capel Baptist Church Cemetery, Cairo, GA. Mr. Prince passed away at his home in Grady County, GA, on Sunday, March 27, 2016.

Active pallbearers will be Frank Jones, Manus Courtney, Keith Lacy, Larry McCorkle, Randy Smith, Jerry Prince, Craig Brock and Larry Prince.

Mr. Prince was born on September 8, 1934, in Cairo, GA, to the late Collie W. Prince and Pixie Oliver Prince. He served his country in the U. S. Army. On September 30, 1956, he married Winnie Hollingsworth Prince, who survives. They have been married for 59 years. He retired as a purchasing agent with Sunnyland Packing Company in Thomasville, GA. He was a devoted member of Capel Baptist Church where he played the piano for many years.

Survivors include: wife, Winnie Hollingsworth Prince of Cairo, GA; daughter, Susan E. Prince of Cairo, GA; grandchildren, Brandi Smith of Dothan, AL, Collie Prince of Whigham, GA, Charles S. Prince, II, of Tallahassee, FL, Sarah Elizabeth Hunter of Cairo, GA; great-grandchildren, Tristan Smith of Dothan, AL, Reagan Prince of Camilla, GA, Heavenlea Taylor of Whigham, GA, Lily Smith of Dothan, AL, Dalton Prince of Whigham, GA, Finn Prince of Tallahassee, FL; brother, Wendell Prince of Cairo, GA; sisters, Voncile Hall of Cairo, GA, Verna Jones of Jasper, GA; and a host of nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a son, Charles S. Prince.

The family will receive friends in the church immediately following the funeral service.
