Funeral services for Walter Franklin Coker, 80, of Pelham, GA, are at 2:00 p.m., Friday, June 10, 2016, at Providence Baptist Church, Whigham, GA. Rev. Chad Cooper and Rev. Mike Mobley will officiate. Services will conclude at the church. Private interment will be in Mizpah Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery, Pelham, GA. Mr. Coker passed away at Archbold Memorial Hospital, Thomasville, GA, on Tuesday, June 7, 2016.
Honorary pallbearers will be: Rick Faircloth, Matt Faircloth, Alex Mobley, Kurt Posey, Jeff Posey, members of the Caleb Sunday School Class and the Deacons of Providence Baptist Church.
Mr. Coker was born on December 14, 1935, in Whigham, GA, to the late Isaac Wilder Coker and Ella Mae Jones Coker. He served his country in the United States Army. On July 9, 1955, he married Betty Jean Tillis Coker, who survives. He owned and operated Walter Coker Furniture. He was an active member and deacon of Providence Baptist Church in Whigham.
Survivors include: wife, Betty Jean Tillis Coker of Pelham, GA; daughters, Brenda Coker Faircloth (Rick) of Baconton, GA, Karen Coker Mobley (Mike) of Whigham, GA; grandchildren, Morgan F. Carpenter (Larry) of Camilla, GA, Matt Faircloth of Atlanta, GA, Alex Mobley (Carly) of Whigham, GA; and a sister, Nadine C. Posey of Crawfordville, FL.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Hugh Leon Coker.

The family will receive friends at Providence Baptist Church on Friday, June 10, 2016, from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m., the funeral hour.
