Reba Williams Perkins

Funeral services for Reba Williams Perkins, 91, of Cairo, GA, are at 11:00 a.m., Monday, September 5, 2016, at the First United Methodist Church, Cairo, GA. Rev. Whit Bryam will officiate. Services will conclude in the church. Mrs. Perkins passed away at WellStar Kennestone Regional Medical Center in Marietta, GA, on Friday morning, September 2, 2016.
Active pallbearers will be her nephews. Honorary pallbearers will be the Fellowship/Aldersgate Sunday School Class.
Mrs. Perkins was born on October 21, 1924, in Vada, GA, to the late Alonzo Williams and Susie Logue Williams. On June 19, 1949, she married Frederick L. Perkins, who preceded her in death on March 10, 2013. Reba worked in the Yellowstone National Park for three summers where she developed an interest in rocks, fossils and minerals. She also worked for the Clerk of Courts office of Grady County until retirement. She enjoyed spending her days working in her yard growing flowers and feeding the birds. She did much genealogy research for both her husband’s and her family. She also loved to travel and was able to visit all 50 states. She had a talent for painting and in the past practiced in watercolors. Reba was a devoted member of First United Methodist Church of Cairo, GA. She loved all her friends, her family and her extended family.
Survivors include: her daughter, Louisa Perkins of Smyrna, GA.
She was preceded in death by: her parents; her husband; and a sister and brother-in-law, Myrna and Gelon Galbreath.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made in Mrs. Perkins’ memory to the Cairo First United Methodist Church, 318 South Broad Street, Cairo, GA 39828 (Designate the General Fund, Methodist Men or XYZ Club)
The family will receive friends immediately following the service in the church Fellowship Hall.
