Jane W. Connell

Funeral services for Jane W. Connell, 90, of Reno, GA, are at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, December 13, 2016, at Reno Baptist Church, Reno, GA. Rev. Jimmy Ausburn will officiate. Services will conclude at the church. Private interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Cairo, GA. Mrs. Connell passed away at her home in Reno, GA, on Saturday afternoon, December 10, 2016.

Active pallbearers will be Bobby Williams, Walter Maxwell, Jason Connell, Jack Winston, Will Winston, and Jimmy Hammett. Honorary pallbearer will be Paul Spears.

Mrs. Connell was born on October 23, 1926, in Calvary, GA, to the late R. G. Williams, Sr. and Carrie Lee Williams. On March 27, 1947, she married S. A. “Buddy” Connell, who preceded her in death on November 24, 2002. Before her retirement, she worked many years as the Director of Housing for the City of Cairo Housing Authority. Jane was a faithful member of the Reno Baptist Church.

Survivors include: her sons, David Connell (Joyce) of Madison, GA, B. Leslie Connell of Tallahassee, FL; grandchildren, Lindsey M. Connell, Jason B. Connell, both of Tallahassee, FL; and a special caregiver, Kim Neill.

She was preceded in death by: her parents; her husband, S. A. “Buddy” Connell; and brothers, Lee Williams, R. G. Williams, Jr., Clyde Broome, Ralph Broome.

The family will receive friends at Clark Funeral Home on Monday, December 12, 2016, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
