Gloria McLendon Trawick

Funeral services for Gloria McLendon Trawick, 90, of Cairo, GA, are at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, December 15, 2016, at the Chapel of Clark Funeral Home, Cairo, GA. Rev. Tammy Fincannon and Rev. Alan Hartsfield will officiate. Interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Cairo, GA. Mrs. Trawick passed away at her home in Grady County, GA, on Sunday, December 11, 2016.

Active pallbearers will be Josh Barrett, Justin Barrett, Spencer Barrett, Morris Anderson, Jerry Brinson, Medford Stewart, Brian Hayes, Trent Stewart and Gary Nelson.

Mrs. Trawick was born on February 2, 1926, in Swainsboro, GA, to the late George E. McLendon and Aubrey Sutton McLendon. On December 22, 1946, she married Joel Nathan Trawick, who preceded her in death on November 1, 2006. She and her husband owned and operated Trawick’s Grocery for 31 years. She was of the Methodist faith.

Survivors include: her daughter, Debra Trawick Barrett of Cairo, GA; granddaughter, Dawn Barrett Knight of Cairo, GA; grandsons, Josh Trawick Barrett (Kerri) of Cairo, GA, Justin Trey Barrett (Lynlee) of Cairo, GA; great-grandchildren, Lindsey Knight Boyles (Ethan) of Boston, GA, Jakson Barrett, Jaken Barrett, Colton Barrett, all of Cairo, GA; and a host of nieces, nephews and extended family.

She was preceded in death by: her parents; her husband; son-in-law, Jackie Lane Barrett; and eight brothers and sisters.

The family will receive friends at Clark Funeral Home on Thursday, December 15, 2016, from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m., the funeral hour.
