James Vincent Rose, Sr.

Funeral services for James Vincent Rose, Sr., 86, of Cairo, GA, are at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, December 20, 2016, at Faith Christian Center, Cairo, GA. Pastor Bill Staten will officiate. Services will conclude at the church. Private interment will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery, Cairo, GA. Mr. Rose passed away at his home in Cairo, GA, on December 16, 2016.
Active pallbearers will be Revis Griffin, Jut Donahoe, Arthur Thomas, Don Carter, David Coleman and Cary Rehberg. American Legion Post 122 Honor Guard will provide Military Honors.
Mr. Rose was born on July 14, 1930, in Brooklyn, NY, to the late Guy Rose and Vicenzina Carnevale Rose. He served his country with the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He was a leadman electrician with Grumman Aerospace Corporation. On June 18, 1988, he married Betty Jean Rose, who survives. He was a member of Faith Christian Center in Cairo.
Survivors include: his wife, Betty Jean Rose of Cairo, GA; son, James V. Rose, Jr. of El Paso, TX; daughter, Donna M. Worth (Bobby) of Islandia, NY; step-sons, Derrick M. Murray (Anita) of Denton, TX, Scott A. Murray (Lisa) of Fort Hood, TX, Todd M. Murray of California; three grandchildren; and nieces, Virginia Rose of Rhome, TX, Lorraine Rose of Jacksonville, FL.
He was preceded in death by: his parents; his first wife, Dorothy Ann Rose; and a brother, Dominick Rose.

The family will receive friends at Faith Christian Center on Tuesday, December 20, 2016, from 10:00 p.m. until 11:00 p.m., the funeral hour.
