James Richard “Jimmy” Lewis

Funeral services for James Richard “Jimmy” Lewis, 74, of Cairo, GA, are at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, December 29, 2016, at Eastside Baptist Church, Cairo, GA. Rev. Andrew Donaldson and Rev. Carl Harrell will officiate. Private interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Cairo, GA. Mr. Lewis passed away at Magnolia Manor on Monday, December 26, 2016.
Active pallbearers will be Bailey Lewis, Dawson Lewis, Trey Lewis, Jeff Willis, Sam Carline, and Glynn Willis.
Mr. Lewis was born on February 2, 1942, in Cairo, GA, to the late Fondren and Vera Lewis. He was married for 53 years to the love of his life Martha Faye Nazworth, who survives. Jimmy did a tour with the U.S. Army and was known as a hard worker with impeccable neatness and a determination to succeed. He helped his brother-in-law and sister, G.Y. and Annie Laura Willis, and a friend Maurice Willis manage F & W Farm Service where he was plant manager 34 years. Then he became the owner of Lewis Farm Service in Boston, Georgia. His sense of humor always kept a smile on the faces of those around him. Jimmy was an active and dedicated member of Eastside Baptist Church in Cairo, GA.
Survivors include: wife, Martha Faye Nazworth Lewis of Cairo, GA; sons, James Richard (Ricky) Lewis, II, (Cynthia) of Raleigh, NC, Randy Lewis of Warner Robins, GA; grandsons, Bailey Lewis and Dawson Lewis of Warner Robins, Trey Lewis and Benjamin Lewis of Raleigh, NC; siblings, Jewel Willis of Tallahassee, FL, Annie Laura Willis of Grayson, GA, Ray Ennis of Palatka, FL; and a host of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by: his parents; siblings, Herby Lewis and Martha Walden.

The family will receive friends following the funeral service in the Fellowship Hall of Eastside Baptist Church.
