Funeral services for William Vernon Meadows, Sr., 89, of Ochlocknee, GA, are at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, May 23, 2017, at Pine Forest Baptist Church, Ochlocknee, GA. Rev. Dennis Norman and Rev. Jack House will officiate. Interment will be in Pine Forest Baptist Church Cemetery, Ochlocknee, GA. Mr. Meadows passed away at his home in Ochlocknee, GA, surrounded by his family on Saturday, May 20, 2017.
Active pallbearers will be: Rodney Harrison, Travis Blevins, Justin Carlton, Roger Strickland, Linzy Meadows, Jr., Adam Maxam, and Anthony Erskine. Honorary pallbearers will be: Chris Meadows, and the Deacons of Pine Forest Baptist Church.
Mr. Meadows was born on March 10, 1928, in Ochlocknee, GA, to the late Mitchell Matthew Meadows and Edna Harrison Meadows. On February 28, 1949, he married Letha Craig Meadows, who survives. Mr. Meadows served his country in the United States Army. He had retired from farming and was a devoted member to his church having served as a song leader, deacon, teacher, and preacher.
