Funeral services for Maxine Dixon Drew, 83, of Cairo, GA, are at 11:00 a.m., Monday, November 6, 2017, at Eastside Baptist Church, Cairo, GA. Rev. Andrew Donaldson and Rev. Wayne McDonald will officiate. Services will conclude at the church. Private interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Cairo, GA. Mrs. Drew passed away at her home in Cairo, GA, on Saturday, November 4, 2017.
Active pallbearers will be Clint Brewer, Brian Clark, Randy Mitchell, Marty Drew, Michael Huntley, and Mike Gainous. Honorary pallbearers will be Donald Walden, Dewayne McClelland, Frank Pritchett, Jerry Pritchett, Ronald Johnson, Russell Collins, Tracy Walden, Frank Huntley, Anderson Shores, Jason Lynn, Tim Widener, and Scott Lester.
Mrs. Drew was born on May 11, 1934, in Cairo, GA, to the late Melvin Council Dixon and Maggie Bell Hopkins Dixon. On April 12, 1952, she married Howard Eugene Drew, who preceded her in death on September 9, 1996. She owned and operated Drew Oil Company. She was a member of Eastside Baptist Church, Cairo, GA.
Survivors include: daughter, Melinda Gainous (Steve) of Cairo, GA; son, Phillip Drew (Jenny) of Cairo, GA; grandsons, Council Blaine Drew of Macon, GA, Justin Phillip Drew (Lindsay) of Athens, GA; sisters-in-law, Alice Dixon of Reno, GA, Margaret Drew of Cairo, GA, Carolyn Drew Oates of Atlanta, GA; and a brother-in-law, Wade Dyches of Cairo, GA.
She was preceded in death by: her parents; husband; brother, Melvin Jerome Dixon; sister, Pat Dixon; brothers-in-law, Lee Roy Drew, Jr. (Buddy), Lee Alton Drew and Edwin Oates; sisters-in-law, Faye Drew Dyches and Delilah Drew.

The family will receive friends at Clark Funeral Home on Sunday, November 5, 2017, from 3:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m.
