Funeral services for Cordie Katherine Woolwine, 94, of Cairo, GA, are at 11:00 a.m., Friday, December 1, 2017, at First Assembly of God Church, Cairo, GA. Rev. Travis Harrison will officiate. Interment will be in Beal Memorial Cemetery, Ft. Walton Beach, FL. Mrs. Woolwine passed away at Camellia Gardens of Life Care in Thomasville, GA, on Tuesday, November 28, 2017.
Honorary pallbearers will be her grandsons and great-grandsons.
Mrs. Woolwine was born on November 14, 1923, in Winchester, KY, to the late Troy A. McCoy and Dula Mae Pigg McCoy. In April of 1936, she married Theodore Woolwine, who preceded her in death on February 15, 1968. She lived for 45 years in Ft. Walton Beach, FL and attended Evangelistic Center Assembly of God Church. Later she moved to Maggie Valley, NC, and worked at her families’ restaurant, Country Vittles. She was a homemaker and devoted to her children and grandchildren.
Survivors include: children, Ted Woolwine (Beverly) of Bonifay, FL, Charles Woolwine (Betty) of Enterprise, AL, Barbara Parker (Sandy) of Waynesville, NC, Carolyn Collins (Steve) of Cairo, GA, Gerald Woolwine (Eileen) of Colorado Springs, CO; grandchildren, Anne Philpot (Steve) of Owensboro, KY, Tami Parker (James) of Maggie Valley, NC, Sandy Parker, Sr. of Waynesville, NC, Chelsey Woolwine of Enterprise, AL, Richard denDekker of Whigham, GA, Heather Cessna of Cairo, GA, Michelle Weakland (Cody) of Italy, Natalie Woolwine of Colorado Springs, CO, Terry Lynn Woolwine, Carolyn S. Woolwine; great-grandchildren, Anna Laura Crowder (Michael) of Cairo, GA, Kristina Marie Langley (William) of Tallahassee, FL, Ricky denDekker of Whigham, GA, Josh Sallinger of Cairo, GA; Lee Parker of Waynesville, NC, Trey Langley of Tallahassee, FL, Cordelia Langley of Tallahassee, FL; sister, Dorothy Vannoy (Leo) of Clintonville, KY, Mamie Burkhart (Gerald) of Winchester, KY, Clara Wampler of New Lebanon, OH; and a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family.
She was preceded in death by: her parents; a sister, Ada McCoy; and brothers, Charlie McCoy, Troy McCoy, Jr.
The family will receive friends at the Cairo First Assembly of God Church, on Friday, December 1, 2017, from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m.
