Funeral services for Joseph Franklin “Joe” Prince, 77, of Cairo, GA, are at 3:00 p.m., Sunday, February 4, 2018, at the Chapel of Clark Funeral Home, Cairo, GA. Rev. Jim Weaver and Rev. Stacy Glover will officiate. Interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Cairo, GA. Mr. Prince passed away at Archbold Memorial Hospital in Thomasville, GA, on Thursday, February 1, 2018.
Active pallbearers will be Lamar Prince, Marty Powe, Jimmy Rehberg, David Johnson, Troy Singletary, Johnny Jenkins, Mitchell “Bubba” Prince and Jody Harvey. Honorary pallbearers will be Alan Lawrence, Connor Johnson and Robert Baxter.
Mr. Prince was born on January 12, 1941, in Cairo, GA, to the late Thomas Benjamin Prince and Lillie Mae Oats Prince. On June 15, 1962, he married Ruth Reynolds Prince, who survives. Until his retirement he was the maintenance shop foreman with Flowers Baking Company. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. Joe was a true friend and caring person for all.
Survivors include: his wife, Ruth Reynolds Prince of Cairo, GA; son, Joey Prince of Cairo, GA; grandsons, Benjamin Andrew Prince, William Anthony Prince, both of Cairo, GA; brothers, Royce Prince of Cairo, GA, Thomas Glenn Prince (Georgia) of Augusta, GA; sisters, Judy O’Neal of Cairo, GA, Lynette Simpson of Cairo, GA; sister-in-law, Velma Prince of Cairo, GA; brothers-in-law, Steve Reynolds (Anita) of Bainbridge, GA, Bob Reynolds of Gainesville, FL; and a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family.
He was preceded in death by: his parents; brother, Wilburn A. Prince; and sisters, Lorenne Spruiell, Monteen Fowler, Agnes Barrett.
The family will receive friends at Clark Funeral Home on Saturday, February 3, 2018, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
