Teresa Spruiell Ponder

Funeral services for Teresa S. Ponder, 59, of Whigham, GA, are at 11:00 a.m., Monday, May 14, 2018, at Union Springs Baptist Church, Whigham, GA. Rev. Tim Harrell and Rev. James Knight will officiate. Interment will be in Union Springs Baptist Church Cemetery, Whigham, GA. Mrs. Ponder passed away at Grady General Hospital, Cairo, GA, on Thursday, May 10, 2018.

Active pallbearers will be Brock Ponder, Steven Ponder, Mark Brinkley, Lance Hawthorne, Jim Ponder and Shaun Ponder.

Mrs. Ponder was born on December 21, 1958, in Alabama, to the late James and Emily Cosper Spruiell. On July 1, 1977, she married Jesse Ponder, who survives. She was a dedicated employee with Wal-Mart for 20 years. She was a longtime member of Union Springs Baptist Church, Whigham, GA.

Survivors include: husband, Jesse Ponder of Whigham, GA; daughter, Traci Ponder (Ryan Tate) of Whigham, GA; grandchildren, Jessa Francine Tate of Whigham, GA, Liam Ryan Tate of Whigham, GA; brothers, Timmy Anderson of Maine, David Spruiell of Cairo, GA, Bobby Spruiell of Cairo, GA; and a host of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by: her parents; and a brother, Lynn Anderson.
