Curtis Cofer

Memorial services for James Curtis Cofer, 78, of Cairo, GA, are at 11:00 a.m., Monday, July 2, 2018, at Gordon Heights Baptist Church, Cairo, GA. Rev. John Paul Hasick will officiate. Mr. Cofer passed away at his home on Friday, June 29, 2018.
Mr. Cofer was born on January 10, 1940, in Cairo, GA, to the late C. J. Cofer and Vera Louise James Cofer. On July 23, 1960, he married Madine Wilson Cofer, who survives. He was a Mechanic Shop Supervisor with Grady E.M.C. and a charter member of Gordon Heights Baptist Church. Mr. Cofer loved racing, enjoyed building number 27, and watching Vincent Williams speed around every turn and corner on Saturday nights with his family and friends. He served many members of the Cairo community and surrounding areas with his wrecker service, Cofer’s Towing and Recovery. One of his favorite saving was, “I love any color as long as it’s red!”
Survivors include: his wife, Madine Cofer of Cairo, GA; daughter, Donna Trawick (Chris) of Cairo, GA; grandchildren, Kristen Bradford of Whigham, GA, Dallas Trawick (Taylor) of Cairo, GA; great-grandchildren, Montana Trawick of Whigham, GA, Riley Bradford of Whigham, GA, Aalhia Trawick of Cairo, GA, Blade Trawick of Thomasville, GA, James Wallace “J.W.” Trawick of Cairo, GA; and a host of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by: his parents; daughter, Debra Ann Cofer; grandson James Dustin Trawick; brother, Rayford Earl Cofer.
Memorials may be made in Mr. Cofer’s memory to a charity of your choice.
The family will receive friends at Gordon Heights Baptist Church the hour prior to the service on Monday, July 2, 2018.
