Ellen Collins Ward

She departed earth to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on July 12, 2018. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m., Sunday, July 15, 2018, at the Chapel of Clark Funeral Home, Cairo, GA. Rev. Carl Harrell will officiate. Services will conclude at the chapel. Interment will be in Pine Level Baptist Church Cemetery, Cairo, GA. Mrs. Ward passed away at Camellia Gardens of Life Care, Thomasville, GA.

Mrs. Ward was born on October 21, 1921, in Cairo, GA, to the late Robert L. “Bob” Ferrell, Sr., and Mamie Merritt Ferrell. She married Arthur B. Collins, who preceded her in death on July 10, 1962. She was a seamstress with Ithaca, and a member of Eastside Baptist Church.

Survivors include: sons, Bob Collins of Thomasville, GA, Steve Collins (Carol) of Cairo, GA; grandchildren, Rick Dendekker of Whigham, GA, Heather Cessna of Cairo, GA, Alisha C. Seymour (Jeff) of St. Simons Island, GA, Chris Collins of Athens, GA; great-grandchildren, Anna Crowder (Michael) of Cairo, GA, Rick Dendekker, Jr. (Taylor) of Coolidge, GA, Joshua Sallinger of Cairo, GA, Clare Seymour of St. Simons Island, GA, Cate Seymour of St. Simons Island, GA, Kristina Langley of Lumberton, MS; great-great-grandchildren, Caroline Crowder of Cairo, GA, Trey Langley of Lumberton, MS, Cordie Langley of Lumberton, MS; brother, Robert L. Ferrell, Jr. (Ginny) of Chattanooga, TN, Kenneth Ferrell of Valdosta, GA; sisters-in-law, Sue Ferrell of Thomasville, GA, Sue Collins of Cairo, GA; and a host of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by: parents; husband; son, Richard Collins; grandchild, Bill Collins; brothers, Joe Ferrell, Bill Ferrell; and a sister, Fleta F. Browder.

The family will receive friends at Clark Funeral Home immediately following the service on Sunday, July 15, 2018.
