John Paul Colson
October 11, 1925 – August 30, 2018

Funeral services for John Paul Colson, 92, of Tallahassee, FL, are at 11:00 a.m., Monday, September 3, 2018, at Tired Creek Primitive Baptist Church, Whigham, GA. Elder Jon Mizell will officiate. Interment will be in Tired Creek Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery, Whigham, GA. Mr. Colson passed away at his home in Tallahassee, FL, on Thursday, August 30, 2018.

Active pallbearers will be his grandsons.

Mr. Colson was born on October 11, 1925, in Garfield, GA, to the late A. W. Colson and Miobe White Colson. On March 26, 1947, he married Grace Mosley Colson, who preceded him in death on March 19, 2017. He was a self-employed house painter, contractor, and a member of Tired Creek Primitive Baptist Church.

Survivors include: a daughter, Linda Grace Bruce and husband Bob of Ocoee, FL; sons, Johnny M. Colson and Mona Leonard of Stuart, FL, Ron Colson and wife Karen of Tallahassee, FL, Richard W. Colson of Tallahassee, FL; grandchildren, Johnny Colson, II, Belinda Bruce, Bonnie Jones, Ron Colson, II, Chris Colson, Joel Frasure, Ric Colson, II, Trinity Henderson and Mathew Colson; 7 great-grandsons, 11 great-granddaughters, 1 great-great-grandson; and a host of nieces, nephews and extended family members.

He was preceded in death by: his parents; his wife of 70 years; a son, Daniel Wayne Colson; one brother; two sisters.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Mr. Colson’s memory to: Big Bend Hospice, 1723 Mahan Center Blvd., Tallahassee, FL, 32308-5428.

The family will receive friends at Clark Funeral Home on Sunday, September 2, 2018, from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m.
