Funeral services for Marguerite Brinson, 91, of Cairo, GA are at 11:00 a.m., on Tuesday, September 25, 2018, at the Midway Baptist Church, Cairo GA. Dr. Steve Pettey and Pastor Johnny Burdick will officiate. Interment will be in Midway Baptist Church Cemetery. Mrs. Brinson passed away at her home in Cairo, GA on Sunday, September 23, 2018, surrounded by her loving family.

Active pallbearers will be the Deacons of Midway Baptist Church. Honorary pallbearers will be members of Mrs. Brinson’s Sunday School Class.

Mrs. Brinson was born on October 24, 1926, in Cairo, GA to the late James H. VanBrunt and Cora Lee Bowman VanBrunt. She married Calvin L. Brinson, who preceded her in death on February 15, 2008. Marguerite was a loving homemaker and retired from the W. B. Roddenbery Company. She was of the Baptist faith and a devoted member of the Midway Baptist Church.

Survivors include: daughters, Sandra McEvoy, Cairo, GA, Merle Hall (Danny), Cairo, GA, Cathy Norton (Laverne), Cairo, GA, Betty Schafer (Tim), Cairo, GA, Barbara Pettey (Steve), Shreveport, LA; eleven grandchildren, seventeen great-grandchildren and nine great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by: her parents; her husband; and her brothers, Gerald VanBrunt, Wesley VanBrunt, James VanBrunt.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in Mrs. Brinson’s memory to: Midway Baptist Church, 2389 GA HWY 93 South, Cairo, GA 39828.

The family will receive friends at Midway Baptist Church on Tuesday, September 25, 2018, from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m.
