Funeral services for Gregory “Greg” Benton, 53, of Cairo, GA, are at 11:00 a.m., Friday, November 2, 2018, at Long Branch Baptist Church, Cairo, GA. Dr. David Benton will officiate. Interment will be in Long Branch Baptist Church Cemetery, Cairo, GA. Mr. Benton passed away at PruittHealth – Sunrise, Moultrie, GA, on Wednesday, October 31, 2018.

Mr. Benton was born on September 10, 1965, in Cairo, GA, to David Eugene Benton and Annie Ruth Carver Benton. Greg was a truck driver with John Deere and a member of Long Branch Baptist Church. He was a happy person all the time that never met a stranger.

Survivors include: son, Blaine Bradley Benton of Rhode Island; daughter, Chelsey Nicole Benton of Statesboro, GA; granddaughter, Paisley Benton of Statesboro, GA; parents, David Eugene and Annie Carver Benton of Cairo, GA; brother, Dr. David Benton of Doerun, GA; sister, Sandy Mathis of Fayetteville, GA; and a host of nieces and nephews.
