Memorial services for Dolores Vogel Hicks, 80, of Cairo, GA, are at 5:00 p.m., Tuesday, December 18, 2018, at the Chapel of Clark Funeral Home, Cairo, GA. Pastor Johnny H. Moore will officiate. Mrs. Hicks passed away at her home in Cairo, GA, on Friday, December 14, 2018.
Mrs. Hicks was born on July 10, 1938, in Sacramento, CA, to the late Charles D. Vogel and Doris Nelson Vogel. She was married to Hugh Dyal Hicks, Sr., who preceded her in death on February 11, 2000. Until her retirement, she was the owner and operator of Reynolds Landing at Lake Seminole. She was a member of Pine Grove Baptist Church and currently attended Family Worship Center in Cairo.
Survivors include: sons, Joel Hicks (Lisa) of Moultrie, GA, Hugh Dyal “Buddy” Hicks, Jr. of Cairo, GA; daughters, Cindy Desmond Hicks of Cairo, GA, Natalie Sellars (Tony) of Ochlocknee, GA, Jennifer Lynn “Pooh” Gonzales (Arnold) of Cairo, GA; grandchildren, Avery Claire Hicks, Justin Gage Hicks, Harlson Cross, Joe Hicks, Josh Hicks, Clint Handfield, Chip Hancock, Cheney Brooke, Leslie Sadler, Stephanie Sellars, Tabitha Lopez, Justin Wolford; a host of extended family; and two special caregivers, Darlene Duncan and Maria D. Gonzales.
She was preceded in death by: her parents; her husband; and a son, Allen Dale Hicks.
The family will receive friends at Clark Funeral Home immediately following the memorial service.
