Jerry Dennis Lee

Jerry Dennis Lee, 63, of Cairo, GA, passed away at his home in Cairo, GA, on Tuesday, February 12, 2019. No services are planned.

Mr. Lee was born on November 21, 1955, in Cairo, GA, to the late Green Braxton Lee and Maggie Mae Helton Lee. On March 6, 1980, he married Elizabeth Darlyn Maxwell “Becky” Lee, who preceded him in death on December 28, 2012.

Jerry, Becky, and Mandy created Helping Hands of America in 1990. For the next ten years the organization provided hundreds of thousands of dollars in support of Orphans in Romania. They traveled there several times per year delivering supplies, organizing, and supervising construction projects. Jerry was a career horticulturist, and well known in many fields. Those who knew Jerry best will remember him as a good friend, husband to Becky, and father to Mandy.

Survivors include his daughter, Mandy Lee and Michael Carroll of Cairo, GA; and his brothers, Ray Lee and Larry Lee. He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife.
