Funeral services for Allen Chris Vick, 72, of Cairo, GA, are at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, July 13, 2019, at Eastside Baptist Church, Cairo, GA. Rev. Robert Crapps will officiate. Interment will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery, Cairo, GA. Mr. Vick passed away at UF Health Shands Hospital in Gainesville, FL, on Tuesday, July 9, 2019.

Honorary pallbearers will be Chris Singletary, Don Stringer, Donnie Haskins, Shawn Cooper, Bobby Gwaltney, Frankie Mathis, Tommy Gwaltney and Reggie Rogers.

Mr. Vick was born on November 13, 1946, in Pelham, GA, to the late William Rupert Vick and Doris Moye Vick. On June 11, 1967, he married Cherrie Dianne Smith Vick, who survives. They were married for 52 years. Chris and his son were owner-operators of their construction company.

Survivors include: his wife, Dianne Vick of Cairo, GA; daughter, Candy Vick Godwin (Ken) of Pelham, GA; son, Chase Vick (Gail) of Cairo, GA; grandchildren, Ashley Vick, Blade Vick, both of Cairo, GA, Kinley Godwin, Cayton Godwin, both of Pelham, GA; and sisters, Neva Dee Stringer (Don) of Quincy, FL; Kathy Vick of Cairo, GA. He was preceded in death by his parents.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Mr. Vick’s memory to: UF Health Office of Development, P. O. Box 100386, Gainesville, FL 32610.

The family will receive friends at Eastside Baptist Church immediately following the funeral service.
