Funeral services for Dennis Blanton Walker, 69, of Cairo, GA, are at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, August 8, 2019, at the First Baptist Church, Cairo, GA. Rev. Chris Allen and Dr. Joe Allen will officiate. Interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Cairo, GA. Mr. Walker passed away at his home in Cairo, GA, on Monday, August 5, 2019.
Active pallbearers will be Tommy Walker, Steve Walker, Earl Jeter, Neil Johnson, Wes Whitfield and John Huggins. Honorary pallbearers will be the Baracca Sunday School Class of the First Baptist Church, Gideons, DeWayne Gainous, Pervis Hester and Howard Thrower.
Mr. Walker was born on April 20, 1950, in Cairo, GA, to the late Blanton William Walker and Joyce America White Walker. On June 10, 1972, he married Barbara Carter Walker, who survives. They were married for 47 years. Dennis retired from risk management consulting and the insurance industry. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Cairo and Gideons International.
Survivors include: his wife, Barbara Carter Walker of Cairo, GA; sons, Daniel Dennis Walker of Santa Rosa Beach, FL, Jared Blanton Walker of Santa Rosa Beach, FL; sister-in-law, Susie Walker Powers (Frank) of Newnan, GA; father-in-law, J. N. Carter of Cairo, GA; sisters-in-law, Carolyn Payne of Cairo, GA, Janis McDonald (Tony) of Homosassa, FL, Donna Gainous (Todd) of Cairo, GA; cousins, Steve Walker of Cairo, GA, Tommy Walker of Albany, GA; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by: his parents; his brother, Rev. William Gerald Walker; mother-in-law, Betty Carter; and a brother-in-law, Terry Payne.

The family will receive friends at Clark Funeral Home on Wednesday, August 7, 2019, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
