Memorial services for Zena Thomas Brown, 91, of Cairo, GA, are at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, September 5, 2019, at the Chapel of Clark Funeral Home, Cairo, GA. Rev. Christy Bandy will officiate. Services will conclude at the chapel. Mrs. Brown passed away at Legacy Village at Plantation Manor in Thomasville, GA, on Thursday, August 29, 2019.
Mrs. Brown was born on April 28, 1928, in Cairo, GA, to the late Mike Thomas and Minnie Lee White Thomas. She graduated from Cairo High School in 1947, and went on to college at ABAC in Tifton, GA, where she pursued a degree in fashion design. On April 2, 1950, she married Russell Earl Brown, who preceded her in death on February 10, 1974. She was a wonderful homemaker, always putting her family first. She had a passion for sewing, cooking and entertaining. In her later years she worked as a media assistant at Cairo High School with the Grady County Board of Education. Zena was a member of the Cairo First United Methodist Church.
Survivors include: daughters, Michelle Brown Rackley (Keith) of Whigham, GA, Sheila Brown Bradley (Mark) of Cairo, GA; granddaughter, Brandy Celeste Bradley (Jeff) of Thomasville, GA; nephews, Mickey Thomas (Rachel) of Palm Desert, CA, Chuck Thomas (Chloe) of Cairo, GA; niece, Shayne Thomas McCullough (Robert) of Destin, FL; and many great-nephews and great-nieces.
She was preceded in death by: her parents; her husband; and brothers, Charlie Thomas and Joe Thomas.

The family will receive friends at Clark Funeral Home immediately following the memorial service.
