Donald Carl Shinn

Donald Carl Shinn, 83, of Cairo, GA, passed away at his home in Cairo, GA, on Sunday, September 15, 2019. No services are planned at this time.

Mr. Shinn was born on July 18, 1936, in Concord, NC, to the late Clifford Carl Shinn and Frankie Dell Bell Shinn. He served his country in the United States Air Force for 28 years until his retirement. On March 25, 1960, he married Valda Annette Daughtry Shinn, who survives. They were married for 59 years. He was a member of Eastside Baptist Church.

Survivors include: his wife, Valda Annette Daughtry Shinn of Cairo, GA; sons, James Earl Shinn of Tallahassee, FL, Steven Craig Shinn (April) of Palmetto, FL; grandchildren, Amanda Shinn (Mikkel) of Charleston, SC, James M. Shinn of Tallahassee, FL, Melea Willett of Bradenton, FL, Sagan Shinn of Palmetto, FL, Isla Shinn of Palmetto, FL; and a host of nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by: his parents; sisters, Jean Brantley, Kay Durham; and a baby brother.
