Memorial services for Phyllis Cooper VanLandingham, 71, of Cairo, GA, are at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, September 24, 2019, at The Church of Grady County, Cairo, GA. Rev. Mike Mobley will officiate. Mrs. VanLandingham passed away at her home in Cairo, GA, on Monday, September 16, 2019.
Mrs. VanLandingham was born on December 25, 1947, in Pelham, GA, to the late Collis Jesse Cooper and Dorothy Snipes Cooper Hand. On July 29, 1967, she married Robert Stafford VanLandingham, who preceded her in death on March 10, 2012. She was an accountant and worked for Bay Pathology. She was a member of the Grady General Support League, Magnolia Women’s Club, Bay Arts Alliance in Panama City, FL, Rutherford High School PTA and the Band Boosters. She was a member of The Church of Grady County.
Survivors include: her children, Marie Nicole VanLandingham, Robert Nelson VanLandingham, Eric Christopher Heyn, all of Cairo, GA; granddaughter, Veronica Leyonie VanLandingham of Cairo, GA; brothers, Durie Cooper of Cairo, GA, David Hand of Tallahassee, FL, Tommy Hand of Modesto, CA; sisters, Delores Cooper Brown of Cairo, GA, Naomi Hand McCall of Tallahassee, FL, Debbie Hand Broome of Jacksonville, FL; the loving extended VanLandingham Family; and a host of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by: her parents; her stepfather, T. J. Hand; her husband; and a brother, Roger Hand.
