Funeral services for J. W. Sellars, 84, of Cairo, GA, are at 3:00 p.m., Thursday, October 3, 2019, at the Chapel of Clark Funeral Home, Cairo, GA. Rev. Ernie Beckwith will officiate. Services will conclude at the chapel. Private interment will be in Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Cemetery, Cairo, GA. Mr. Sellars passed away at his home in Cairo, GA, on Monday, September 30, 2019.

Active pallbearers will be Austin Sellers, Toby Sellers, Dallas Bynum, Dylan Sellers, Dalton Sellers, Duke Sellers and Joshua Sellers.

Mr. J. W. Sellars was born on August 2, 1935, in Cairo, GA, to the late Sam Sellars and Eva Mae Wilson Sellars. On January 11, 1958, he married Vernice Sadler Sellers, who preceded him in death on July 10, 2016. They were married for 58 years. He was employed with the Southern Concrete Construction Company. He was a member of New Covenant Full Gospel Church.

Survivors include: his daughter, Donna Gail Bynum of Cairo, GA; his sons, Richard Sellers of Cairo, GA, Raymond Sellers of Cairo, GA; grandchildren, Duke Sellers of Cairo, GA, Josh Sellers of Kershaw, SC, Jennifer Sellers of Thomasville, GA, Dallas Bynum of Cairo, GA; sisters, Doris Sexton of Whigham, GA, Francis Bush of Cairo, GA; brothers, Ronald Sellars (Joann) of Albany, GA, Durwood Sellars (Connie) of Whigham, GA; 6 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews and extended family.

He was preceded in death by: his parents; his wife; brothers, Will Sellars, Charles Sellars, Henry Sellars; and sisters, Marlene Ricks, Gearldean Samples, Annie Bell Bridges, Lochia Roop, Hattie Mae Nix, Mildred Williams, Gladys Proctor, Lennie Singletary, Bernice Ponder.

The family will receive friends at Clark Funeral Home on Wednesday, October 2, 2019, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
