Memorial services for Edwina Kaye “Pete” Burroughs Rentz, 82, of Cairo, GA, are at 2:00 p.m., on, Sunday, January 5, 2020, at the Chapel of Clark Funeral Home, Cairo, GA. Rev. Chris Allen will officiate. Mrs. Rentz passed away at Pelham Parkway Nursing Home, Pelham, GA, on Thursday, January 2, 2020.

Mrs. Rentz was born on November 9, 1937, in Thomasville, GA. She graduated from Judson College in Marion, AL and attended the University of Georgia. She was a rural carrier with the U. S. Post Office for twenty-seven years and enjoyed visiting with her customers on her route. Pete enjoyed reading, riding horses and gardening in her yard. She was of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include: her son, Whit Rentz of Cairo, GA; daughter and son-in-law, Jan and Roy Glover of LaGrange, GA.; granddaughter, Carissa Rentz of Thomasville, GA; sister, Susan Hancock (John) of Cairo, GA; nieces, Kaye Lamar (Clay) of Sale City, GA, April Reckford (David) of Cairo, GA; grandnieces, Kyli Lamar, Dr. Madison Lamar, both of Moultrie, GA, Ada Reckford of Cairo, GA; grandnephews, Clayton Lamar, Cuy Lamar, both of Sale City, GA, Kenneth Everett Reckford of Cairo, GA; and many cousins who loved her so much.

She was preceded in death by: her parents, Edwin Godwin, Everett Burroughs and Lois Chastain Burroughs.
