Barbara Maxwell Bearden

Private graveside funeral services for Barbara Sue Maxwell Bearden, 68, of Reno, GA, will be in Broome Cemetery, Reno, GA. Rev. Chris Allen will officiate. Mrs. Bearden passed away at her home in Cairo, GA, on Wednesday, April 15, 2020.
Mrs. Bearden was born on March 28, 1952, in Cairo, GA, to the late Donald Neal Maxwell and Frances Elizabeth Cox Maxwell, who survives. On January 30, 1969, she married Douglas Larry Bearden, who preceded her in death on September 5, 2016. They were married for 47 years. Barbara spent many years running the Zebulon Theatre and the Cairo Drive-In with her husband, Larry. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Cairo. She was an extremely proud grandmother and loved spending time with her grandchildren and with her brothers and sisters. Barbara enjoyed spending her time cheering her grandchildren in motocross and barrel racing. She was even the mechanic for her grandson’s racing activities. She was a proud great-grandmother and was so proud of her great-grandson. “She will be missed.”
Survivors include: daughter, Sharon Bearden Miller (Jeff) of Cairo, GA; grandchildren, Shelby Wagenseil (Chris) of Old Town, FL, David Thompson of West Palm Beach, FL; great-grandson, Taylor Lee Wagenseil of Old Town, FL; mother, Frances Maxwell of Bainbridge, GA; brothers, Neal Maxwell (Linda) of Whigham, GA, Terry Maxwell of Cairo, GA; sisters, Marilyn Culver (Ken) of Whigham, GA, Jane Cumbie (Greg) of Cairo, GA; brother-in-law, Carson Bearden (Annette) of Cairo, GA; sister-in-law, Elaine Fowler (Dave) of Palm Bay, FL; and a host of nieces, nephews and extended family.
She was preceded in death by: father; husband; and a brother, Jerry Maxwell.
