Louise Brown Richter

Annie Louise Brown Richter, 100, of Cairo, GA, passed away on April 20, 2020, at Rose City Health and Rehabilitation Center in Thomasville, GA. She had been a resident of Cairo for 82 years. Mrs. Richter was born and raised on a beautiful farm in Franklin County, GA, located at the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains. She was the 8th of 9 children born to Thomas D. Brown and Julia Etta Terrell.
Mrs. Richter graduated from Carnesville High School in 1937. She played on a basketball team that won the state championship for their school. She loved sports.
Mrs. Richter was a mother and homemaker for most of her life. After her children were grown, she worked at Grady County REA. She loved her job because it entailed meeting the public and forming friendships. She was an active member of the Cairo First Baptist Church and the TEL Sunday School Class. She possessed a strong Christian faith. Other activities involved her membership in the Cairo Woman’s Club. She loved her friends.
Mrs. Richter is survived by: a daughter, Mary Julia Coons (Allan) of Thomasville, GA and a son, Karl F. Richter (Jeri) of Craig, AK. Her grandchildren are Brantley Richter of Sandy Springs, GA, Mary Louise Morris of Columbus, GA, Jennifer Mastrovito of Brevard, NC, Kathryn Coons of Boone, NC; and a great-granddaughter, Keri Morris.
She was preceded in death by: her sons, Frank Ashton Richter IV and Malcolm Brown Richter; along with her parents and 8 siblings.
Private graveside internment services will take place in the Cairo Cemetery, Cairo, GA.
