Private funeral services for Ruth Marie Braswell, 84, of Cairo, GA, are on Thursday, December 3, 2020, at the Chapel of Clark Funeral Home, Cairo, GA.  Rev. Robin Chaplin will officiate.  Interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Cairo, GA.  Mrs. Braswell passed away at Archbold Memorial Hospital in Thomasville, GA, on Tuesday, December 1, 2020.

Active pallbearers will be Mickey Nixon, Brad Braswell, Brett Braswell, Stephen Chaplin, Robbie Chaplin, Brian Cantley, Larry Cantley, Jr., Reggie Mobley and Toby Knifer.

Mrs. Braswell was born on June 2, 1936, in Tenino WA, to the late Frank Lee Smith and Alice Carrie Case.  On May 1, 1953, she married Albert Watson Braswell, Sr. who preceded her in death on February 26, 1997.  She was a homemaker and of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include: her children, Albert Braswell, Jr. (Susan) of Cairo, GA, Debby Nixon of Thomasville, GA, Cathy Cantley (Larry) of Bainbridge, GA, Shirley Chaplin (Robin) of Albany, GA, Kenny Braswell (Tina) of Cairo, GA, Tonya Hopkins of Cairo, GA, Rusty Braswell (Nicole) of Bainbridge, GA; grandchildren, April Lee (Chuck) of Cairo, GA, Whitney Friend (Michael) of Cairo, GA, Charity Knifer (Toby) of Thomasville, GA, Stacey Whitaker of Albany, GA, Mickey Nixon of Thomasville, GA, Larry Cantley, Jr. (April) of Bainbridge, GA, Brian Cantley of Bainbridge, GA, Wendy Mobley (Reggie) of Whigham, GA, Robbie Chaplin (Lisa) of Cairo, GA, Stephen Chaplin (Traci) of Albany, GA, Brad Braswell (Connie) of Cairo, GA, Brett Braswell (Jason McLean) of Cairo, GA, Kailey Sneed of Cairo, GA, Beau O’Hearn of Bainbridge, GA, Ryder Braswell of Bainbridge, GA; 24 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews and extended family.

She was preceded in death by: her parents; husband; a son, Randall Lee Braswell; and her four siblings.
