Willie Larry Turner

Willie Larry Turner, 72, of Blakely, GA, went home to be with his Savior on Monday, December 21, 2020, at Phoebe North.
The family will celebrate his homegoing at Banks Cemetery, 1196 Stagecoach Road, Pelham, GA 31779, on Sunday December 27th, 2020 with Tony Plymel officiating and Jim Atchley, Rick Sellers, Billy Slaughter, Herbert Adams, Rodney Turner, Ed Turner, and John Corley serving as Honorary Pallbearers.
Larry was born on January 6, 1948 in Camilla, GA to the late Reverend Gus and Nancy Turner. Larry loved being outdoors. It was that love for the outdoors that led to a career with the Department of Natural Resources. In 1980 the Department of Natural Resources transferred Larry to Early County GA, where he retired after 28 years of service.
Larry loved his family and adored his wife Joy, of 53 years. He never missed a chance to have them all together. Some of his favorite moments were when we could all gather around his table to enjoy a meal while sharing laughter, memories, and old stories.
Survivors include his wife, Joy; his children, Renee Skipper her children, Joshua Skipper (Kelly) and their child Connor of Ashford, AL, Emily Busby (Aaron) and their child Mae of Blakely, GA, Angie Turner of Tallahassee, FL, LaWayne Turner of Tallahassee, FL, and his children Andrew, Hannah, Brody, and Isabella, Michelle Usry (Luke) and their children Addie, Wyatt, and Charley of Blakely, GA. His sisters, Staffie Thomaston (James), Gail Copeland (Roy), and Kathy Plymel (Tony); Two brothers-in- law, Roger Cumbie (Genie), Mark Cumbie, and an extra special sister-in-law Gwyn Duncan (Wright).
