Genelle Jones McClelland

Funeral services for Genelle Jones McClelland, 86, of Cairo, GA, are on, Wednesday, December 30, 2020, at Whigham Baptist Church, Whigham, GA.  Rev. Chris Allen will officiate.  Interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Cairo, GA.  Mrs. McClelland passed away at Archbold Memorial Hospital in Thomasville, GA, on Thursday, December 24, 2020.

Active pallbearers will be Marc Cox, J. D. Fincannon, Al Akridge, Chad Gordon, Tyler Akridge and James Martin. Honorary pallbearers will be Larry McDaniel, Thomas Singletary, Rex Martin and Deacons of Whigham Baptist Church.

Mrs. McClelland was born on October 25, 1934, in Whigham, GA, to the late William Monroe Jones and Eloise Perkins Jones.  On February 14, 1952, she married William Charles McClelland, who preceded her in death on May 6, 1991.  She was a caregiver and a member of Whigham Baptist Church.

Survivors include:  sons, Dennis McClelland, Dewayne McClelland, both of Whigham, GA; daughters, Yvonne Singletary (Thomas), Deborah Martin (Rex), Pam Akridge (Al), all of Cairo, GA; grandchildren, Michelle Roberts, Dustin McClelland, Rachel Adams, Chelsey Mixon, Megan Gordon, Heather Stokes, Tyler Akridge, James Martin; great-grandchildren, Kayla Grigsby, Cohen Mixon, Myles Adams Johnson, Olivia Gordon; brothers, Charles Jones, Larry Jones; sisters, Faye Goforth (Hugh), Lynne Brice (Darrell); and a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family.

She was preceded in death by: her parents; husband; daughters, Sarah Ethel Adams, Gail D. McClelland; sister, Sarah Clayton; brother, William Jones; sisters-in-law, Pat Jones, Irene Jones; and a brother-in-law, Larry Clayton.

The family will receive friends at the home of Al and Pam Akridge.
