Wesley H. Burks
March 17, 1942 – December 28, 2020

Graveside funeral services for Wesley H. Burks, 78, of Cairo, GA, will be on Sunday, January 3, 2021 in Macedonia Baptist Church Cemetery, Pelham, GA.  Rev. Robert Crapps will officiate.  Mr. Burks passed away at Archbold Memorial Hospital in Thomasville, GA, on Monday, December 28, 2020.

Mr. Burks was born on March 17, 1942, in Rockford, AL, to the late Homer Burks and Prassie Ponder Burks.  He served his country in the United States Army.  On October 7, 1967, he married Judy Harrison Burks, who survives.  He retired as foreman from Englehard Corp. (now BASF, Corp.).  Wesley was of the Baptist faith.  Wesley loved farming, fishing, and spending time with his family and grandchildren.  He loved to tell good jokes.

Survivors include: his wife, Judy Harrison Burks of Cairo, GA; children, Holly Burks of Dothan, AL, Jill Santillo (Adam) of Atlanta, GA, Carl Burks (Tanya) of Atlanta, GA; grandchildren, Gia Santillo, Americo Santillo, both of Atlanta, GA; brother, Emory Burks (Clarice) of Cairo, GA; brother-in-law, Charles Womble of Cairo, GA; and a host of nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by: parents; and 2 sisters, Anne Newling, Jessie Womble.
