Eunice F. Hurst Elkins
July 20, 1924 – April 8, 2021

Graveside funeral services for Eunice F. Hurst Elkins, 96, of Ochlocknee, GA, are at 11:00 a.m., Monday, April 12, 2021, in Macedonia Baptist Church Cemetery, Pelham, GA.  Rev. David Pickering will officiate.  Mrs. Elkins passed away at her home on Thursday, April 8, 2021.

Active pallbearers will be Dale Taylor, Michael Taylor, Andy Poitevint, Scott Hurst and Tracy Hurst.

Mrs. Elkins was born on July 20, 1924, in Pelham, GA, to the late Johnny Flowers and Mae Scott Flowers.  She retired from the W. B. Roddenbery Company.   She was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church, Pelham, GA.  Eunice had a green thumb and loved working in her flower beds.  She enjoyed watching the Atlanta Braves and wrestling.  She was an awesome cook.

Survivors include: her daughter, Velma Poitevint of Cairo, GA; daughter-in-law, Myrtice Hurst of Cairo, GA; stepdaughter, Dianne Weimer (Roy) of Atlanta, GA; grandchildren, Robin Johnson of Cairo, GA, Dale Taylor of Cairo, GA, Kim Edwards of Camilla, GA, Andy Poitevint of Cairo, GA, Michael Taylor of Cairo, GA, Tracy Hurst of Columbus, GA, Brian Hurst of Camilla, GA, Scott Hurst of Cairo, GA; and a host of great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by: her parents; her husbands, Russell Hurst, Ermon Elkins; her children, Suzanne Hurst Taylor, Irvin Hurst; brothers, Cleve Flowers, Elbert Flowers; and sisters, Ana Mae Boggs, Sara Moye.

The family wishes to extend special thanks to Kindred Hospice, Kathy Adams, Lowaner Johnson, and her great-granddaughter, Jennifer Boyett.
