Earl Johnston “John” Carpenter, III

Earl Johnston “John” Carpenter, III, 46, passed away on March 10, 2021, in Panama City Beach, FL. He was the son of Earl J. Carpenter, Jr. and Mary Hopkins Carpenter.
John was born on May 1, 1974 in Thomasville, GA. He graduated from Cairo High School in 1993. He then attended Bainbridge Junior College and then Valdosta State University. John worked several summers on the beach for Water Works renting chairs, umbrellas, and wave runners in front of Regency Towers. He then went to work for a utility mapping company as a GPS mapper.
He is survived by: his parents, Earl and Mary Carpenter of Cairo, GA; brother, Cameron E. Carpenter of Panama City Beach, FL; uncles and aunts, Linda Perry (Chip) of Bainbridge, GA, Brenda Roddenbery of Cairo, GA, Bobby Hopkins of Panama City Beach, FL, Duane Hopkins (Faye) of Reno, GA, Susan Guarino (Vic) of Ocean Isle, NC; and a host of cousins and extended family.
John was preceded by his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Leroy Hopkins, Jr. of Cairo, GA and Mr. and Mrs. Earl J. Carpenter of Westerly, RI.

A private family graveside service is planned for Saturday, May 1, 2021 in the Cairo Cemetery, Cairo, GA. Rev. Ron McCaskill and Rev. Wayne McDonald will officiate.
