Eleanora May Greata Herndon

Graveside funeral services for Eleanora May Greata Herndon, 90, of Horseheads, NY, are at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, September 18, 2021, in Salem Baptist Church Cemetery, Climax, GA.  Rev. Ron McCaskill will officiate.  Mrs. Herndon passed away at Arnot Odgen Medical Center in Elmira, NY, on Monday, September 13, 2021.

Mrs. Herndon was born on October 7, 1930, in Runnemede, NJ, to the late Joseph Greata and Bessie Matthews Greata.  On July 1, 1983, she married Alfred Herndon, who preceded her in death on April 6, 1997.  She was a loving homemaker and a member of the Salem Baptist Church in Climax and Hilltop Bible Baptist Church in Cairo before she moved to New York to be nearer her children.

Survivors include: her children, Arlene Martin (James), Brett Singer (Rosalin), Bruce Singer, Linda Davies (Nicholas), Gary Singer, and Lori Singer (Dawn); and dozens of grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by: her parents; her first husband, David Singer; her second husband, Alfred Herndon; and her children, Diane Singer, David Singer, Jerry Singer, and Brian Singer.
