Wallace Polk

Funeral services for Wallace Polk, 79, of Cairo, GA, are at 3:00 p.m., Saturday, March 12, 2022, at the Chapel of Clark Funeral Home, Cairo, GA.  Rev. Kathy Polk will officiate.  Interment will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery, Cairo, GA.  Mr. Polk passed away at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital, Albany, GA, on Tuesday, March 8, 2022.

Mr. Polk was born on February 9, 1943, in Whigham, GA, to the late Corbie Polk and Lucille Horne Polk.  On May 23, 1980, he married Judy Mulford Polk, who preceded him in death on October 30, 2015.  He retired from BASF Catalysts LLC in Decatur County, GA.

Survivors include: his children, Robin Word (Mark) of Leesburg, GA, Debbie Swackhammer (John) of Wimauma, FL, Faye Richard (Bill) of Americus, GA, Bobby Polk (Kathy) of Wellsville, KA, Wallace “Bubba” Polk (Mattie Jo) of Cairo, GA; step-children, Donna Brock (Henry) of Cairo, GA, Tracy Griffin (Jimmy) of Cairo, GA, Eddie Thomas of Cairo, GA; 19 grandchildren, 4 step-grandchildren, and a host of great-grandchildren; brothers and sister, Corbie Polk, Jr. of San Diego, CA, Emily Eubanks of Bronwood, GA, Gerald Polk of Cairo, GA; and a host of extended family.

He was preceded in death by: his parents; his wife; brothers and sisters, Roscoe Polk, Carroll Polk, Betty Ann Polk Anglon, Larry Polk, Randall Polk, Dorothy Polk.
