Faye Morrison Hurst
September 27, 1944 – March 28, 2022  

Funeral services for Faye Morrison Hurst, 77, of Cairo, GA, are at 11:00 a.m., March 31, 2022, at Springhill United Methodist Church, Whigham, GA.  Rev. David Hibberts will officiate.  Interment will be in Springhill United Methodist Church Cemetery, Whigham, GA.  Mrs. Hurst passed away at Archbold Memorial Hospital in Thomasville, GA, on Monday, March 28, 2022.

Active pallbearers will be Greg Morrison, Richard Morrison, Dan Davis, Jordan Davis, Scott Morrison and Brock Morrison.

Mrs. Hurst was born on September 27, 1944, in Cairo, GA, to the late Neal Ray Morrison and Lula Mae Bishop Morrison.   On December 30, 1965, she married Bobby Hurst, who survives.  They have been married for over 56 years.  Faye was a homemaker and member of the Springhill United Methodist Church in Whigham.

Faye was a woman who adored her family, and whose family adored her, especially her husband. She’s best remembered by all for the time she gave to her family. She visited her mama as often as possible, bringing her groceries weekly and rolling her hair. She watched sports with her son and homeschooled him in his youth. She drove her daughter-in-law to cheer at games and made sure they were both able to be in the stands for all of her son’s baseball and basketball games. She’s remembered by her grandkids as the grandmother who helped with their homework, supported every one of their dreams, and was never too busy to spend time with them or make them lunch. She was a cheerleader at Whigham School and a cheerleader to her family.  To her husband, Bobby, Faye was simply his world.

Survivors include: her husband, Bobby Hurst of Cairo, GA; son, Tim Hurst (Hope) of Cairo, GA; grandchildren, Hannah Hurst (Thomas William Sauls) of Port Wentworth, GA, Seth Hurst of Milledgeville, GA; brothers, Ray Morrison (Anne) of Tallahassee, FL, Wayne Morrison (Darlene) of Whigham, GA; and a host of nieces, nephews and extended family.  She was preceded in death by her parents and a baby infant.
