Memorial services for Rufus Leroy “Bubba” Ulmer, Jr. 77, of Whigham, GA, at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, April 23, 2022, at 399 Tired Creek Rd, Whigham, GA. Rev. Jim Hayes, Joe Futch, and Earl Prince will officiate. Mr. Ulmer passed away at his home on Tuesday, April 19, 2022.
Honorary pallbearers will be Tim Rogers, Dave Ulmer, Matt Ulmer, Vic Harrison, Carlton Hancock, Larry Cone, Greg Baggett, Richard Strickland, Eric Singletary, John Adkins, Rick Sellars and Herman Sanders.
Mr. Ulmer was born on November 30, 1944, in Cairo, GA, to the late Rufus Leroy Ulmer, Sr. and Ruby Esther Perkins Ulmer. He served his country in the United States Army National Guard. He retired from Warner Brothers Company in Thomasville, GA. Leroy had a passion for riding and training horses. He was a lifelong cowboy.
Survivors include the mother of his children, Annette Prince Ulmer of Cairo, GA; his children, Tracy Lamar Ulmer (Susan) of Cairo, GA, Leanne Ulmer Futch (Joe) of Whigham, GA; grandchildren, Justin William Futch of Cairo, GA, Austin Lee Futch of Boston, GA, Ethan Orion Ulmer of Cairo, GA, Nicolas Colby Ulmer of Cairo, GA; brothers, William David Ulmer (Janice) of Whigham, GA, Michael Philip Ulmer of Johnson City, TN; sisters, Kay Ulmer Harrison of Whigham, GA, Esther Ann Ulmer of Venice, FL and a host of nieces, nephews and extended family.
His parents and his brother-in-law, Bill Harrison, preceded him in death.
The family will receive friends at the home of Leanne Futch.
