Faye Gay Norton
May 8, 1943 – June 9, 2022

Funeral services for Faye Gay Norton, 79, of Whigham, GA, are at 3:00 p.m., Sunday, June 12, 2022, at Long Branch Baptist Church, Cairo, GA.  Rev. Jeff Ezell will officiate.  Interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Cairo, GA.  Mrs. Norton passed away at Archbold Memorial Hospital in Thomasville, GA, on Thursday, June 9, 2022.

Active pallbearers will be Chad Norton, Clint Norton, Blake Norton, Roger Landrum, Derek Sculley, and Randy Griffin.

Mrs. Norton was born on May 8, 1943, in Ochlocknee, GA, to the late James Sterling Gay and Erie Dell Carter Gay.  On April 11, 1957, she married Z. E. Norton, who preceded her in death on October 20, 2007.  She was the owner of Faye’s Gifts and More in Cairo.  She was a member of Long Branch Baptist Church in Cairo.

Survivors include: her children, Tim Norton (Melea) of Whigham, GA, David Norton (Melissa) of Sylvester, GA, Beth Womble (Juddy) of Whigham, GA; sisters, Jimmie Landrum of Cairo, GA, Emily Hatcher of Boston, GA; grandchildren, Becky Norton, Lynne Silsby, Steve Norton, Ana McGinty, Tylar Haynes, April Rogers, Megan Stewart, Dana Hester, Sterling Womble, Mason Womble; and 14 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews and extended family.

She was preceded in death by: her parents; her husband; daughter, Donna Faye Yowhn; grandson, Dalton Yowhn; and a great-granddaughter, Neely Childs.

Memorials may be made in Mrs. Norton’s memory to: Hands and Hearts for Horses, 3824 Lower Cairo Road, Thomasville, GA 31792.

The family will receive friends at Long Branch Baptist Church on Sunday, June 12, 2022, from 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m.
