Michael Wayne Bennett
September 17, 1954 – June 19, 2022

Graveside funeral services for Michael Wayne Bennett, 67, of Whigham, GA, are at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, June 23, 2022, in Pine Level Baptist Church Cemetery, Cairo, GA.  Rev. Jim Weaver will officiate.  Mr. Bennett passed away at his home on Sunday, June 19, 2022.

Honorary pallbearers will be Terry Terrell, Rodney Prince, Ricky Prince, Carroll Lee Sellars, Elvis Sellars, Tracey Bennett, Hill Bennett, Terrell Bennett, Buster Tuggle, and Buddy Tuggle.

Mr. Bennett was born on September 17, 1954, in Jacksonville, FL, to the late Wayne Bennett and Shirley June Tuggle Bennett, who survives.  On April 2, 1976, he married Wanda Garcia Bennett, who survives.  He was an inside sales engineer with Evoqua Water Technologies.  He was a member of Pine Level Baptist Church in Cairo.

Mike was an avid football fan of the Georgia Bulldogs.  He enjoyed watching western and sci-fi movies.  He loved to restore old cars with his son.  Mike was a family man that enjoyed grilling and spending time with his loved ones.  He loved his grandchildren and spending time with them.

Survivors include: his wife, Wanda Bennett of Whigham, GA; children, April Pallas (Jeremy) of Schertz, TX, Brian Bennett of Cairo, GA; grandchildren, Ava Pallas, Jackson Pallas, Aiden Pallas, Bryson Bennett and Braxton Bennett; mother, Shirley Bennett of Cairo, GA; sister, Debra Harrison (Danny) of Whigham, GA; sister-in-law, Frances Clark (David) of Pelham, GA; and several nieces, nephews and extended family.

He was preceded in death by his father and a niece, Dayna M. Harrison.
