Williford Reese Johnson, Sr.
February 29, 1940 – January 29, 2023

Funeral services for Williford Reese Johnson, Sr., 82, of Cairo, GA, are at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, February 2, 2023, at Pine Forest Baptist Church, Ochlocknee, GA.  Rev. Steve Wooten will officiate.  Interment will be in Pine Forest Baptist Church Cemetery, Ochlocknee, GA.  Mr. Johnson passed away at Tallahassee Memorial Hospital on Sunday, January 29, 2023.

Mr. Johnson was born on February 29, 1940, in Cairo, GA, to the late Julius Watson Johnson and Laura Meadows Johnson.  On July 18, 1987, he married Mary Lynn Clearman Johnson, who preceded him in death on July 31, 2021.  Reese was a hog buyer in the pork industry before his retirement.

Survivors include: his children, Williford Reese Johnson, Jr. of Kissimmee, FL, Jennie Johnson Lewis (Scott) of Thomasville, GA; grandchildren, Rhysa Leigh Johnson, Walker Solomon Lewis, Gabriel Watson Lewis, Nolan Asher Lewis, Isabel Eve Lewis; nephew, Larry Johnson; and a niece, Francine Salter.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, John Alfred Johnson, Dewey Gene Johnson.

Memorials may be made in Mr. Johnson’s memory to: Pine Forest Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, 435 Pine Forest Road, Ochlocknee, GA 31773.

The family will receive friends at Pine Forest Baptist Church immediately following the funeral service.
