Elva Jane Whigham Haire

Graveside funeral services for Elva Jane Whigham Haire, 90, of Zephyrhills, FL, are at 11:00 a.m., Monday, February 20, 2023, in Greenwood Cemetery, Cairo, GA.  Rev. Steve Wooten will officiate.  Mrs. Haire passed away at the Gardens of Westbrooke Senior Living in Zephyrhills, FL, on Wednesday, February 15, 2023.

Born in Cairo, GA, on August 30, 1932, to John Robert Whigham, Sr. and Annie Palmer Whigham, she spent her childhood and early adult life there.  She spent a large part of her life as a caregiver for homebound senior adults and eventually moved to Central Florida to be near family there.

Jane is predeceased by her parents, Robert and Annie Whigham; her daughter, Joanne Gilliard, and her husband, Wally Haire.

She is survived by her brothers, John Robert “Bobby” Whigham, Jr. (Margie) of Ridge Manor, FL, and James LeVerne Whigham of Cairo, GA; nieces, Kay Hill (Gene) of Eustis, FL, Lesli Jeter (Patrick) of Belton, KY, and nephew, Shannon Whigham (Michelle) of Thomasville, GA, as well as numerous great-nieces, great-nephews, and extended family members.
