Charles Lee “Charlie T” Hester
October 26, 1959 – March 19, 2023

Memorial services for Charles Lee “Charlie T” Hester, 63, of Cairo, GA, are at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, March 25, 2023, at Magnolia Baptist Church, Whigham, GA.  Rev. Jimmy Ausburn and Eric Walden will officiate.  Mr. Hester passed away at his home on Sunday, March 19, 2023.

Mr. Hester was born on October 26, 1959, in Cairo, GA, to the late Charlie Thomas Hester and Elma Akridge Hester.  He was a graduate of the Cairo High School Class of 1977.   He was employed as a tree surgeon and earlier in his working career, he was a brick mason.  He was lovingly known by family and friends as “Charlie T.”  He was an avid outdoorsman and was best known by his favorite saying, “Hunker Down, Go Dawgs.”    He was of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include: his children, Heather Hester Golden of Millersburg, OH, Lelia Hester Williams of Whigham, GA, Austin Hester of Cairo, GA; grandchildren, Gavin, Ashton, Tristan, Braylon, Ryley, Cole, Hanna, Hazel, Luke and 2 more baby girls are expected soon; mother of his children, Sheila Palmer of Cairo, GA; and a host of cousins and extended family.  He was preceded in death by his parents.

The family will receive friends at Magnolia Baptist Church immediately following the memorial service.
