Charles Lavon Williams
November 13, 1935 – April 16, 2023  

Funeral services for Charles Lavon Williams, 87, of Cairo, GA, are at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, April 19, 2023, at Pine Park Baptist Church, Cairo, GA.  Rev. Brandon Smith and Rev. Steve Wooten will officiate.  Interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Cairo, GA.  Mr. Williams passed away at his home on Sunday, April 16, 2023.

Active pallbearers will be Brandon McCrary, Troy McCrary, Terry Bishop, Travis Williams, Vincent Williams and Stanley Elkins.

Mr. Williams was born on November 13, 1935, in Ochlocknee, GA, to the late Luther Enoch Williams and Tempie Whitfield Williams.  On June 17, 1987, he married Paulette Barrett Williams, who survives.  He retired as a truck driver.  He was a member of Pine Park Baptist Church of Cairo.

Survivors include: wife, Paulette Williams of Cairo, GA; daughter, Billie Smith (Jimmy) of Moultrie, GA; granddaughters, Amanda Griffin (Sean) of Moultrie, GA, Kim Smith of Moultrie, GA, Jamie Smith of Texas; stepchild, Terry Bishop of Cairo, GA; step-grandchildren, Angie McCrary (Troy) of Cairo, GA, Cindy Bishop of Thomasville, GA, step-great-grandchildren, Brandon McCrary of Cairo, GA, Hanna Griffin, Simon Griffin, Abigail Griffin, Jessica Mitchell, Alexis Mitchell, Paige Mitchell, Michael Mitchell, Colby Mitchell; step-great-great-grandchild, Thorne McCrary; brother, Gene Williams of Cairo, GA; and a host of nieces, nephews and extended family.

He was preceded in death by: his parents; brother, Tommy Williams; and sisters, Charlene Elkins, Bobbie Sue Palmer.

The family will receive friends at Pine Park Baptist Church on Wednesday, April 19, 2023, from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m.
