Betty Jean Cox
June 29, 1951 – May 12, 2023

Funeral services for Betty Jean Cox, 71, of Thomasville, GA, are at 2:00 p.m., Monday, May 15, 2023, at the Chapel of Clark Funeral Home, Cairo, GA.  Rev. Darrell Owens will officiate.  Interment will be in Pine Level Baptist Church Cemetery, Cairo, GA.  Mrs. Cox passed away at her home on Friday, May 12, 2023.

Active pallbearers will be Payton Mashburn, Phillip Mashburn, James Adams, Eddie Busby, Joe Bundrick and Jacob Lamb.

Mrs. Cox was born on June 29, 1951, in Cairo, GA, to the late Barlie Nix and Nettie Beulah Smith Nix.  On April 12, 1968, she married Gene Cox, who preceded her in death on March 1, 2017.  She retired as a supervisor with Warner’s Inc.  She was a member of Forest Acres Full Gospel Church in Thomasville.  She enjoyed reading, collecting angels, and working in her flower beds.   She loved the Lord most of all.

Survivors include: her daughters, Teresa Busby (Edward) of Coolidge, GA, Gena Clark of Thomasville, GA; grandchildren, Gator Busby (Courtney) of East Point, FL, Joseph Busby of East Point, FL, Payton Mashburn (Leanna) of Whigham, GA, Phillip Mashburn (Heather) of Whigham, GA; and 12 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.

The family will receive friends at Clark Funeral Home on Monday, May 15, 2023, from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m.
