James Clarence “Jimmy” Harrison
June 26, 1927 – June 23, 2023

Graveside services for James Clarence “Jimmy” Harrison, 95, of Whigham, GA, are at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, June 27, 2023, at Pine Level Baptist Church Cemetery, Cairo, GA.  Rev. Jim Weaver will officiate.  Mr. Harrison passed away at Camellia Gardens of Life Care in Thomasville, GA, on Friday, June 23, 2023.

Honorary pallbearers will be Neil Harrison, Dexter Harrison, Terry Curles, Buster Boatright, Joey Lawrence, Bill Cranford, Brian Bennett, Forrest Harrison, Duane Davis, Brian Hayes and Sam Kines.

Mr. Harrison was born on June 26, 1927, in Cairo, GA, to the late Clarence Harrison and Onie Kelly Harrison.  He served his country in the United States Army.  On November 3, 1951, he married Billie Womble Harrison, who preceded him in death on February 10, 2018.  They were married for over 66 years.  He was a machinist, master forger and welder and manager of a pole/cross tie operation for thirty years.   He was a member of Pine Level Baptist Church in Cairo.

Survivors include: his children, Danny Harrison (Debra), Donna Hancock (Hollis), both of Whigham, GA; grandchildren, Bennett Harrison (Julia) of Tifton, GA, Simon Harrison (Courtney) of Whigham, GA, Jared Fowler of Pelham, GA; great-grandchildren, Jase Harrison, Nathan Harrison, Shayna Fowler, Jamey Fowler; great-great-grandchild, Bennett Bigham and a host of nieces, nephews and extended family.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his beloved wife; granddaughter, Dayna Harrison; sisters, Lula Wheeler, Eula Welch; and brothers, Andrew Harrison, Johnny Harrison, Douglas Harrison, Howard Harrison and Bronwood Harrison.
