David E. Turner

David E. Turner, 89, of Cairo, GA, passed away peacefully at home in Cairo, GA, on Thursday, June 29, 2023.  The family will host a private memorial and interment service.

Mr. Turner was born on October 6, 1933, in Sale City, GA, to the late David Glenn Turner and Blanche Mae Johnson Turner. In 1955, he married Betty J. Cain, who survives. They were married for 68 true years.  He served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict.  David retired from a career with the DNR working as a game warden. He was a member of the Freewill Baptist Church.

Survivors include: his wife, Betty J. Turner of Cairo, GA; daughter, Joyce Joyner (Raymond) of Cairo, GA; son, Rodney Turner of Cairo, GA; 10 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; 2 great great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by:  his parents; a daughter, Rebecca Harrell; a granddaughter, Tori Lovett and 11 brothers and sisters.
