June Elaine Hurst

Funeral services for June Elaine Hurst, 79, of Whigham, GA, are at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, August 27, 2023, at the Cairo Church of Christ, Cairo, GA.  Dale Cooper will officiate.  Services will conclude at the church.  Private interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Cairo, GA.  Miss Hurst passed away at Archbold Memorial Hospital in Thomasville, GA, on Friday, August 25, 2023.

Honorary pallbearers will be her great-niece, great-nephews and Russell Register.

Miss Hurst was born on July 2, 1944, in Pelham, GA, to the late John Henry Hurst and Lillian Barksdale Hurst.  She was a homemaker and a member of the Cairo Church of Christ.

Survivors include: her sister-in-law, Sue Hurst of Cairo, GA; nieces, Samantha Steedley (Spence) of Churchtown, PA, Olivia Bonham (Steve) of Martinez, CA; and great-niece, Shelby Bonham; and great-nephews, Nathan Harrell, Braxton Harrell, Welles Harrell and  Henry Bonham.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, John Ronald “Johnny” Hurst.

The family will receive friends at the Cairo Church of Christ immediately following the service.
