Betty Hammett Bryant
July 21, 1933 – September 7, 2023

Funeral services for Betty Hammett Bryant, 90, of Reno, GA, are at 3:00 p.m., Sunday, September 10, 2023, at Reno Baptist Church, Reno, GA.  Rev. Jim Weaver and Rev. Greg Fenn will officiate.  Interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Cairo, GA.  Mrs. Bryant passed away at Southern Pines in Thomasville, GA, on Thursday, September 7, 2023.

Active pallbearers will be Brett Jones, Christopher Jones, Caleb Jones, John Henry Mitchell, Carroll Hopkins and Walter Maxwell.

Mrs. Bryant was born on July 21, 1933, in Cairo, GA, to the late Thomas James Hammett and Rachel Maxwell Hammett.  On August 31, 1957, she married Murry Winston Bryant, who preceded her in death on February 9, 2014.  She retired from the Grady County Department of Family and Children Services with 38 years of service as an accounting technician.  Mrs. Bryant loved flowers and working in her yard.  She loved to spend time with her family and friends, but her greatest joy was spending time with her children and grandchildren.  She was a devoted member of the Reno Baptist Church.

Survivors include: daughters, Sandra Jones (Michael) of Reno, GA, Tommie Jean Bryant of Fairview, OR; grandchildren, Brett Jones of Reno, GA, Christopher Jones (Rose Marie) of Leesburg, GA; great-grandchildren, Lindsey Jones, Caleb Jones, both of Leesburg, GA; and a host of nieces, nephews and extended family.

She was preceded in death by: her parents; her husband; brother, Ralph Hammett; and a sister-in-law, Wynelle Hammett.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Sunday at the Reno Baptist Church.
